Tech Mishaps Night

Everyone makes mistakes - we want to hear about one of yours!

Madison Women in Tech and UW-Women in IT are looking for folks interested in giving a 5- to 10-minute lightning talk about a time something went wrong (and how you recovered).

Examples of stories include ...

... you inadvertently crashed production, and wrote new workflows for testing and deploying.

... you made incorrect assumptions and moved forward in the wrong direction, and changed how you approach new situations.

... you crashed and burned in a technical challenge, and overhauled how you prepare for job interviews.

What we're looking for

We'd love to hear stories about mishaps that you caused or contributed to, how you fixed it in the short-term, and any long-term changes you made or realizations you had as a result. The goal is to normalize failure, and also remind folks that one mistake is the not the end, but just another step along the way.

Deadline to submit: Monday, March, 22nd. We'll confirm if you're speaking no later than Sunday, March 28th.

Additional notes

Slides NOT required :)

All attendees and presenters agree to adhere to the WiT code of conduct.
